Presque Isle County Jail is the only jail in the County of Presque Isle. The jail is located at 267 N. Second Street, Rogers City, MI, 49779.

The facility was constructed in 1974 and now houses twenty-three inmates in dormitory style housing. The jail houses maximum to minimum security level inmates including those on work release sentenced up to one (1) year. Staffing consists of 4 full time and 0 part-time Corrections Officers.

Visiting Hours

Visiting is on Thursday and Sunday each week during the following hours:

  • 9:00 a.m. thru 11:30 a.m.
  • 12:30 p.m. thru 4:30 p.m.
  • 5:00 p.m. thru 7:30 p.m.
Visits are 30 minutes long with visitor allowed one visit per day.

How to make an appointment to visit an inmate

Visiting appointments will be taken by phone at 800-734-2156 or in person after midnight the same day as the visit. (Note: If you make a visit by phone and do not show up for the visit, you will have to make visiting appointment in person from that point on.)

Mail

Mail will be accepted by U.S. postal service or by dropping off in front office of Sheriff's Department and will be passed out at regular mail times. All mail is sorted, opened and inspected by Corrections staff thoroughly for contraband.

Money will be accepted and deposited into an inmate account either by mail or in person by CASH OR MONEY ORDER ONLY. Personal checks will not be accepted.

Minimum Deposit = $25  Maximum Deposit = $300

Phone Transaction Fee = 5% of total

Internet Transaction Fee = 3.5% of total

Minimum Service Fee = $3.50


Telephone

Inmates are allowed one phone call at the time of inital book in. Telephones are available for use in the cellblock and are collect call only and whoever is receiving the call is responsible for the charges.
Inmates of the jail do not receive incoming telephone calls, we will not take messages unless there is an emergency.
